I’m always amazed at the stuff you find by the side of the road. Now gloves and scarves and such I can understand, but I frequently see underwear, shirts, socks and even less explainable garments in the most unlikely places.
And this morning I saw a shoe. Just one. A single shoe in the middle of the road. Poetic, but rather puzzling. And worrisome, come to think of it. What if there had been an accident and someone had lost their shoe? Wouldn’t they want it back?
The annoying and disconcerting thing is that there is no way to know.
