It’s amazing how some people, even learned people, behavioral scientists with considerable riding experience, that is to say people like me will think that adding the phrase: ‘you stupid basterd’ to the ‘stop’ command while riding a horse that seems to be accelerating every time the command is issued adds to the efficiency of the phrase.
I can attest, from recent experience that this is not the case.
And we were doing so well, trotting around in the forest, having fun. A good and controlled canter on the way into the forest, and on the way home someone decided it was time for the turbo drive. Oh well, I managed to slow him down enough to be able to jump off. Argh, So I ended up covered in mud AGAIN. This does not look good on my resume (or my pants).
Oh well, we live and learn eh?
