A friend gave me a recipe for preparing cheap cuts of beef, Korean style he calls it. I tried it and by golly it works! The trick is to cut the beef in very very thin slices (preferably when it’s still somewhat frozen). You then season them, fry them in a very hot pan with some ginger slices. When it’s nice and brown, add a chopped onion, chopped garlic and freshly chopped red chili peppers. Stir and add a splash of lemon juice and a tablespoon of sugar. Turn the heat down and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Chop a generous amount of spring onion and stir that through just before serving. Pretty great with some steamed broccoli and pandan rice.
Oh and beer of course..
Yay food! There is something extremely satisfying about cooking a good meal. Next time: the perfect way to cook chicory.
